Vidalia Onion Pie

Ingredients

  • 3 C Vidalia onions, thinly sliced

  • 3 T Butter, melted

  • 1 (9-inch) prebaked deep dish Pie Shell

  • 2 Eggs, beaten

  • 3 T All Purpose Flour

  • 1/2 C Milk

  • 1 1/2 C Sour Cream

  • 1 tsp Kosher Salt

  • 4 slices B

  • Bacon, crisply cooked and crumbled

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees

  2. In a medium saucepan, melt Butter over medium heat. Add the Onions and sauté until lightly browned.

  3. Put the pie pan on a sheet pan. Line the bottom of the crust with the Onions.

  4. In a small bowl, beat the Eggs and the Flour together to combine.

  5. Add the Milk, Sour Cream and Salt and mix well and pour over the Onions.

  6. Garnish with Bacon and bake until firm in the center, about 30 minutes.

  7. Transfer to a serving platter and serve.

You can do individual tarts if you prefer.
